Â黨ÊÓƵ University College of Business continues to expand its leadership in applied artificial intelligence and academic innovation through national collaboration.

David M. DiSabito Jr., MBA, Professional Educator of Business Analytics and Information Management and AI Liaison for the College of Business, has been selected as a Member of the Generative AI in Assessment Community of Practice (GenAI CoP), a national initiative convened through the 2026 Assessment Institute in Indianapolis.

The year-long program brings together faculty members, assessment leaders, and higher-education practitioners from institutions across the country to explore emerging best practices for the responsible and effective use of generative artificial intelligence in academic assessment.

As a Member of the Community of Practice, DiSabito will participate in collaborative working groups, contribute to pilot projects, and help develop shared resources and guidance for institutions seeking to integrate AI tools into learning assessment in responsible and measurable ways. The work is intended to produce field-facing recommendations that can support colleges and universities navigating the evolving role of artificial intelligence in teaching and evaluation.

“This opportunity allows us to contribute to national conversations about how generative AI can be used thoughtfully in higher education,” said DiSabito. “Our goal is to ensure that institutions adopt these technologies in ways that strengthen learning outcomes, support faculty, and maintain rigorous academic standards.”

DiSabito’s current working-group assignment focuses on automated scoring and rubric-based assessment, an emerging area that explores how AI tools can assist faculty in evaluating student work while maintaining transparency, consistency, and academic integrity.

Participation in the initiative also aligns with key priorities within the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation framework, including assurance of learning, innovation in teaching and assessment, and continuous improvement through evidence-based practices.

Through this national collaboration, Â黨ÊÓƵ University’s College of Business is contributing to the development of responsible approaches to AI adoption in higher education while increasing the University’s visibility in conversations shaping the future of academic assessment.
